The feedback from our community (that's you!) has told us that cycleways should be one of the priorities for our 10-Year Plan.

We now want you to tell us if we have our cycleway priorities right!
Tell us what you think
The draft 10 Year Plan is likely to include approximately $2.7 million for cycleway projects. This is enough to cover:
• a 3 metre wide concrete cycleway linking Te Awamutu
to Kihikihi (5km)
• completion of the Cambridge Green Belt Trail (9km)

Have we got our priorities right? If not, what would you prefer?

Use the 'other' option to share your thoughts and ideas.

On the Te Awamutu to Kihikihi cycleway, if we opted for a 2 metre wide easy-riding metal surface instead of concrete, we could afford to extend it all the way to Pirongia (an additional 10 km) for the same price.

Easy-riding metal surfaces are much cheaper to construct, and are used widely throughout New Zealand, including on the Hauraki Rail Trail, Otago Rail Trail and our own Cambridge Green Belt Trail.

Which is the best choice for Te Awamutu:

The Te Awa River Ride Trust plans to extend the River Ride from the Avantidrome all the way to Hamilton via Mystery Creek in the next decade.

Should we contribute funding for the Avantidrome to Mystery Creek leg of the River Ride?

Do you have any other thoughts about cycleways in Waipa that you think we should consider?

Thanks for the feedback!
